In recent years, the vintage “HAORI” (*Kimono outer jacket) has been a fashion trend among youngsters. This year the V&A Museum has held an exhibition “Kimono- Kyoto to Catwalk” to showcase the history and significance of the kimono, both in Japan and worldwide. It seems that the Kimono has become more and more familiar in the UK and the rest of Europe.
Our OUTDOOR KIMONO is an innovative new genre of Kimono. It is created in collaboration with the Japanese Kimono specialty brand "Yamato" and based on the concept of a variable Kimono that can be worn for outdoor activities and city living. The OUTDOOR KIMONO uses durable fabrics and is designed to be easily worn by anyone. The waist can be buttoned and easily fastened with a removable buckle belt, so you can wear it without a Kimono belt whilst maintaining the beauty of a Kimono silhouette. In this AW20 collection, we have released three styles of OUTDOOR KIMONO and each style has its own unique material and feature.
The Outdoor KIMONO Pe Serge
The Pe Serge Kimono uses a special polyester fabric called "Karl Karl ®" and it has DWR (durable water repellent) feature. It has a texture just like wool but lighter and warm.
The Outdoor KIMONO 2L Octa
The outer fabric of the 2L Octa Kimono is made of stretchy nylon ripstop with excellent durability and water repellent treatment, and it is laminated with moisture permeable waterproof material. "Octa®"is lighter than normal polyester but it can withstand sudden weather and temperature change.
The Outdoor KIMONO FR 2L Haori
The FR 2L HAORI features easy fasten buttons, a buckle belt and a detachable hood. The fabric is a blend of recycled polyester and Aramid, with a highly durable water-repellent and windproof treatment. The lining uses the same “Octa” light polyester as the 2L Octa Kimono.
