Activities and workshops are a big part of the Snow Peak Way weekend and this year we had a great time learning some new skills.
Here are a couple of the crafting activities we had fun trying, learning how to take fabrics and personalise them.
Boro
The Japanese art of mending textiles using traditional sashiko thread and scrap fabrics.
A big thank you to Melanie Kyles from Slow Hand Creative Studio in Gateshead for joining us to run this really enjoyable workshop.
We discovered how to mend denim clothes by patching and stitching, using pieces of old material - creating some beautiful results.
It was a relaxing and rewarding time and great for all ages. Learning this skill, encouraged us to think about easy ways to reduce clothing waste by reusing and recycling old fabrics and garments.
Woodpress
Decorating fabrics with traditional inked on designs.
Our Retail colleague, Felix, had created some amazing wood blocks based on iconic Snow Peak logos and symbols. Everyone had fun personalising the plain canvas goodie bag that they had been given, or their own fabrics, with some unique results.
