We recently had the pleasure of partnering with Embers Campsite to host a memorable adventure with a group of Snow Peak-ers at their beautiful location in Polesden Lacey, Surrey.
Since most of our guests were new to camping, our team guided them through the process of pitching tents and tarps whilst we chatted and laughed amidst the beautiful surroundings.
Once we had everything set up, we had plenty of time to enjoy the picturesque site. We took leisurely strolls through the small forests and meadows, basking in the warm spring sunshine and the fresh, crisp air. The atmosphere was relaxed and convivial, and it was great to see so many people of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences, including families, couples, and many solo campers
Later in the afternoon, we conducted masterclasses on how to start a fire, and how to put up a tarp (led by team member Ollie), and as the evening drew in, everyone came together to prepare a tasty meal using fresh ingredients, under the expert guidance of our resident chef, Hideko.
As is customary on all Snow Peak adventures, we enjoyed Takibi time, gathering around the fire to share stories and revel in the beauty and serenity of nature. We also drank some delicious Sake, with each guest pouring for one other, as per the Japanese custom.
We talked long into the night while also demonstrating how to make hot water bottles (which came in handy as the temperature dropped after dark!)
In the morning, we took a leisurely stroll around the campsite, followed by a delicious breakfast. Some of the budding baristas in the group brewed some lovely, fresh coffee for the rest of us using our equipment.
Then it was time to pack up. Some members of the group had to leave for work, but the rest stayed behind and pitched in as we showed them the quickest and most efficient way to dismantle tents and tarps. We said our goodbyes and headed back, feeling rejuvenated, refreshed, and inspired.
It was a truly few days. We were delighted to meet so many Snow Peak-ers for the first time and we look forward to making this a regular team event, where campers of all backgrounds and experiences can come together to learn from one other.
Thank you to Events Coordinator Hideko and Store Manager Ollie for running a brilliant day, and to Retail Team member Lyam.
