Bringing new life to tents and clothes
Sustainability and longevity are very important to us here at Snow Peak. Born from a desire to reduce the environmental impact of clothing production, our WHOLEGARMENT® range is a series of apparel made in Niigata Japan, using exclusively recycled materials that were collected by our retail stores.
We partnered with Nippon Environmental Design who through a state-of-the-art process were able to isolate, transform and refine the existing polyester fibres found in these unwanted items into a resin which is then spun into a super-absorbent, quick-drying, and breathable yarn-fibre. This precious 100% recycled fibre is then knitted into something truly special using seamless WHOLEGARMENT® technology that puts comfort and freedom of movement first.
Polyester is predominately derived from non-renewable resources including, petroleum, and is found in approximately 60% of all clothing. By replacing these raw materials with recycled resins, we can cut petroleum use and thus lower CO2 emissions, whilst also reducing the amount of clothing that ends up in landfill.
